Bear-Paw Lakeside Forest Bathing at Graylag Nature Preserve

  • Graylag Nature Preserve 320 Clough Rd Pittsfield, New Hampshire, 03263 United States (map)

Forest Bathing, or Shinrin-yoku, is the practice of immersing yourself in nature through the senses to support health and well-being.

Join Certified Forest Therapy Guide Brittany Carr of Rooting in Nature and Bear-Paw Regional Greenways for a guided two-hour experience designed to help you slow down, reconnect, and restore balance through gentle, mindful invitations in nature. Research shows that time outdoors can reduce stress, improve mood, support immune function, and enhance focus and creativity.

We are grateful to our partners at Graylag Nature Preserve for opening the preserve for this event. The experience will conclude with tea and quiet reflection, followed by an optional opportunity to enter the lake for a final cool-down experience. Time in and around water can help regulate the nervous system, leaving you feeling refreshed and grounded.

This practice is rooted in reciprocity, fostering a deeper sense of connection between people and the natural world. This is a slow, accessible experience with no prior experience needed.

Breathe deeply, and reconnect—with nature, and with yourself.
