The Mission:
At Rooting in Nature, we believe that deep healing, self-discovery, and connection begin in the natural world. Founded by Brittany Carr, a Certified Forest Therapy Guide, avid hiker, and outdoor educator, our mission is to create immersive nature experiences that engage all the senses, providing a safe and supportive space for individuals to reconnect with themselves, nature, and the present moment.
Using the science and principles of eco-therapy and Shinrin-yoku (forest bathing), our guided walks blend meditation, movement, mindfulness, and intentional reflection to foster healing, self-awareness, and inner peace.
Everything in nature is interconnected, with each element playing a vital role in the rhythm and cycles of life, from growth to rest. Humans are part of this natural flow, and healing occurs when we align with our own cycles of renewal, rest, and growth, embracing balance and harmony. By slowing down, engaging our senses, and being fully present, we cultivate balance, resilience, and belonging. Whether through deep introspection or a simple reset of the nervous system, our goal is to help individuals find peace, renewal, and confidence in both their inner and outer worlds.
The Founder:
Brittany Carr is a Certified Forest Therapy Guide, facilitator, artist, and avid outdoorswoman with a deep passion for nature, healing, creativity, and personal growth. Whether hiking New Hampshire’s challenging mountains, paddleboarding on quiet lakes, or simply sitting among the trees, Brittany believes in the profound healing power of nature to transform us physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
Her journey into forest therapy was inspired by her own personal experiences in nature, where she found peace, strength, and clarity. Immersed in the natural world, Brittany discovered the transformative potential of connecting with nature, which led her to pursue certification as a Forest Therapy Guide through The Forest Therapy School. Through her work with Rooting in Nature, Brittany designs experiences that combine the power of community
